Bong Go, the Special Assistant to the President, Finally Speaks Up Against President Duterte’s Critics!

Secretary Bong Go is currently serving as President Duterte’s Special Assistant. He oversees the Presidential Management Staff of Duterte’s regime and was appointed by the President himself.

Bong Go has actually served President Duterte as his executive assistant and his personal aide since 1998.

He has kept relatively quiet since being personally appointed by the country’s head of state, except perhaps a handful of controversial cases that have somewhat implicated him in certain unsavory affairs, such as when he personally called PNP Chief of Staff Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa to tell him to reinstate Chief Supt. Marvin Marcos. At the time, Marvin Marcos was being investigated for the alleged murder of Mayor Rolando Espinosa.

However, overall, Bong Go has seemingly worked quietly behind the scenes, wordlessly doing his job as one of President Duterte’s most trusted men.

Recently, MOCHA USON BLOG released a video wherein the President’s Special Assistant was interviewed by the Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), Mocha Uson.

The video was uploaded on Facebook on June 21, 2017, and has so far garnered 204,000 views as of this writing. The video description says that Bong Go rarely makes noise and conducts interviews. However, he took the opportunity that Mocha presented to him in order to express his sentiments about the critics of the Duterte regime.

The clip began with Bong Go saying something about the clash in Marawi, where government troops are currently being deployed to combat the Maute terrorists. He said:

“Kawawa naman ‘yung mga evacuees, galing kami sa… andiyan sila sa Iligan, makikita mo mga Pilipino, mga inosente.”

Mocha then asked him about his message for those who criticize the current regime, particularly the President himself. Bong Go said:

“Ah… demokrasya ‘to, siguro talagang meron talagang gustong manira, sana suportahan na lang natin ‘yung pangulo. Eh… mabuti naman ang kanyang hangarin.”

He continued:

“Para po sa bayan natin, sana antayin niyo na lang matapos muna ‘yung panunungkulan niya, bahala na kayo. Basta sa ngayon, siya ang pinili ng taong bayan, suportahan na lang po natin siya.”

Mocha then asked him if he had a message for the president’s supporters.
